✨🚗 HOW TO CLEAN YOUR CAR RIMS... 🚗✨
Tires and rims are two of the vehicle elements that suffer the most from daily use , since they are constantly exposed to the ground, so they end up accumulating more dirt, dust, rain, grease and the remains of the brake pads themselves.😫
We can confirm to you right now that there are no miraculous “Home Remedies” 🚩 , but in this Blog , we are going to explain how to care for and clean your rims and tires so that they last as long as possible like new.✨
1. APPLY THE PRODUCTS COLD
It seems like basic advice, but when it comes to rims and brakes , it is VERY important to keep in mind that you cannot wash them if you have just used your vehicle and want to achieve a good finish.✅
The same thing happens when we apply products in the sun instead of in the shade (although having read our previous Blogs, we know that you no longer make this mistake 😉): once applied, they evaporate with the heat , which causes the product to dry out and leaves you with a patchy result, the worst nightmare for a good detailer.
2. DECONTAMINANT OR FERROUS CLEANER?
We all know the famous oven cleaner trick, but if you really want to save money 💲, stop using kitchen products and start taking care of the enamel and chrome of your rims as they deserve so that they don't last as long as a candy in a school 🍬. These types of products are made up of a chemical cleaner that is too abrasive, so you'll do everything except save money!
Depending on the cleaning your little ones need, we recommend some products or others:
If you need an intensive cleaning, we recommend a Ferric Wheel Decontaminant : it reacts with the accumulated brake fluid between the wheels, and depending on the amount of dust and brake fluid you find, you will need to scrub or not. But don't overdo it! We recommend this cleaning a maximum of 1-2 times a month .
On the other hand, if you need a more daily cleaning, we recommend an active Snow Foam wash . With it you will be able to keep the rims and tires as new by taking advantage of the foam that cleans and degreases even the most complicated areas. (With the Foam we do recommend a couple of brushes to go into detail and not miss anything)
Once you clean your rims, don't forget your tires . Moisturize and nourish them as this will improve their appearance and prevent them from cracking 🚫 . It will be like putting on cologne after a shower. Is it essential? No. Does it look better? Like new!
3. THREE ESSENTIAL DETAILS
👉🏻 Don't get your rims wet! We're not watching you, but we were already watching you with the pressure hose in your hand 👀. To prevent the products from dissolving and thoroughly impregnating the area, it's important that they don't come into contact with water until they've already worked. Once the recommended time has passed, rinse it thoroughly with pressurized water. 💦
👉🏻 Keep an eye on the time! Wheel cleaning products usually have a very specific exposure time of 2 to 8 minutes ⌚. This way you can make sure that the product takes effect on the dust and grease accumulated in the small hiding places of the wheels.
👉🏻 Dry them! If you have read our previous Blogs you will know how insistent we are on drying any area you have cleaned , but if you want the best finish on your rims after all the work, it is the best thing you can do to avoid water drop marks . To do this, we recommend a drying towel or a microfiber cloth to avoid scratching the chrome.
