💺 HOW TO CLEAN YOUR CLOTH AND ALCANTARA CAR SEATS 💺
Share
Having a spotless car is not just about leaving the bodywork clean✨, it also means taking care of and keeping the interior in good condition, especially the main element: the seats.
In this week's Blog we are going to focus on fabric/alcantara seats, as cleaning and caring for the leather areas is a very different story that deserves a future Blog .

1. STEPS TO FOLLOW
Cleaning the seats is not something that is usually done on a regular basis, although you should ✅, but you start thinking about doing it almost when you get stuck to them or they are a very different color 😫. But how should you do it?
1️⃣ Vacuum the area : To properly prepare the area before cleaning it and ensure that all the work you're going to do is worth something, you should vacuum the entire area. Don't forget the folds of the seats or the backrest 🚨 , because they are usually the most forgotten areas, and it is where the most dirt accumulates.
👉🏻 How?: Remember to vacuum from the inside of the seat outwards to “drag” as much dirt as possible. It will probably be mostly bread crumbs and hair that cling to the fabric like chewing gum.
2️⃣ Use a specific cleaner: To remove any stains, apply an Upholstery Cleaner . This type of cleaner is suitable for both textiles and alcantara , so don't worry if your seats are made of one material or the other or a mixture of both.
👉🏻 Format: These types of cleaners are usually in foam format , so that they can do a deep cleaning on the fabric itself, so they usually have a different sprayer that can apply the product with a much denser texture .
👉🏻 Let it act: Precisely because it is in foam format, we recommend that you let the product act for a few seconds so that it “wraps” the dirt well and it is easier to remove it ✅
👉🏻 Dampen the brush: As a great tip before you start scrubbing with the specific Textile Brush , we recommend you dampen it, this way you will get the product to penetrate the area as much as possible and mix with the stain.
👉🏻 Rub it and remove the excess: Gently rub all over the seat so as not to damage the fabric and not just on the stain, we know you… 👀 This way you will get a much more uniform result! Go over everything with a damp Microfiber Cloth and remove the excess product.
👉🏻 Let it dry: After you have moistened the area and applied the cleaner, the seat will be completely wet , so let it dry as much as possible. 💦
3️⃣ Use an All-Purpose/APC Cleaner: To finish off the cleaning, if you have any areas of the seat that are not made of fabric, use an All-Purpose Cleaner to leave it spotless.
4️⃣ Air freshener: Give the final touch with an air freshener to eliminate bad odors that accumulate in the fabric due to lack of cleaning, which after reading this Blog, will not be your case 😉
2. WHAT AREAS CAN I CLEAN?
After all the hassle we've given you, we know you're wondering: So can I only use the Upholstery Cleaner on the seats? 🤔 And we're glad you asked us that question, because you can use it to renew any area of your car that is made of textile/alcantara/upholstery.
✅ Seats: After everything we have explained to you, it was obvious.
✅ Seat belts: These little guys also tend to get dirty just by looking at them from daily use and rubbing, so don't forget about them.
✅ Floor mats: Yes! Just as you might have imagined, floor mats can also be renewed with a specific cleaner for textile seats in the same way as we explained in the previous step-by-step instructions 📝
✅ Roof: A great forgotten part of car interior cleaning. Remember that dust, grease and smoke 🚬 tend to accumulate on the roof of your car, so remember to clean it from time to time.
✅ Door upholstery: In some cars there is even fabric on the doors, so don't be shy and clean them from time to time, because they tend to accumulate dirt to boredom ❌
3. SPECIFIC SPOTS
Fortunately or unfortunately, there are thousands of types of stains that can reach the seats of your car, and if there is nothing worse than trying to remove a stain from a t-shirt 👕, imagine the upholstery of a car, which does not know how to be washed in the washing machine:
🔘 Gum: the most feared by our seats, although hardening it with a little ice and removing it with a spatula , the problems are over.
🔘 Grease: This is one of the most common stains if your friends/kids decide to eat some Cheetos in the car. Don't worry 🎶. Use a degreasing product with glycerin or acetone.
🔘 Chocolate: with an Upholstery Cleaner it won't be difficult to remove this stain for those with a sweet tooth 🍫
🔘 Mud: We can also recommend an Upholstery Cleaner again, although we first advise you to remove the largest dirt with a Dry Textile Brush instead of vacuuming.
We know that this blog is aimed primarily at those with a sweet tooth, people with friends who insist on eating and smoking in the car, and parents desperate with their children's snacks. This is for you! 🥂
In addition, here is a video where we show you in action all the steps to follow and the tips that we have been explaining to you in this blog.
