📝 TIPS FOR WASHING YOUR CAR CORRECTLY PART 3 📝

Now that we are in the middle of the post-holiday season 🌞 (Or rather, fighting against the heat and rain) we all want to take advantage of the little good weather that is left, and more than ever take the car, go to the beach, a barbecue, on an excursion... And what does this mean? That we end up with a filthy car! 👎

For this reason, we are going to give you some small tips so that you can have your car like new during this slightly crazier month, simply by changing small bad habits that we have all developed in this complicated life of detailing.

1. DO NOT CLEAN YOUR VEHICLE IN THE SUN - WASH AND DRY IT IN THE SHADE

With all this good weather, one of the most common mistakes is to apply products on a completely hot area or directly in the sun . Mistake!

Always try to find a shady spot to enjoy your summer detailing ritual and avoid applying any product on an area that is too hot 🔥. This will prevent your favorite products from drying out before you can spread them over the area and becoming patchy.

Also, by applying and working the products little by little by areas , both inside and outside, you will notice a big difference and you will be able to get the most out of the products you normally use (Surely, the BassMotor products 😉), since you will avoid them from drying out and it will be much easier to distribute them over the area and make them perfect.

2. VACUUMING IS NOT ENOUGH - USE A SPECIFIC SOAP FOR SEATS AND MATS

Cleaning car seats is a 😍 “Love it or hate it” 😫 in the world of detailing, and to make you love it as much as we do and get the best result, it won’t just be enough to vacuum them, but don’t be scared! It’s easier than it seems.

In general, cleaning the interior requires the same or more care than the exterior: mud, food remains, scratches on the fabric, etc. Therefore, it is not enough to just vacuum the area ; you will need a specific upholstery and textile cleaner if your seats and mats are made of fabric or alcantara, or a complete Leather Kit if your seats are made of this delicate material.

It is important to vacuum the area before washing , of course, but this will only be the first step before using the specific products according to the material of your seats so that you have the best possible finish. In addition, specialized products for use inside the car usually have a very specific smell, so that you feel as if it were fresh from the dealership (I wish! 🤭).

3. DO NOT USE PRODUCTS WITH HARMFUL INGREDIENTS - USE PRODUCTS WITHOUT SILICONES

We have all fallen into the temptation of buying supermarket products to clean our car/motorcycle and save a bit of money 💲, but as soon as we have tried them, we have regretted it immediately. As they say, in the end , cheap things are expensive , and even if the “Homemade Tricks” leave a nice finish on the surface, you may end up having problems with some areas of your car.

It is always important to check (without going crazy 🤯) some of the ingredients contained in the products you use in your vehicle, since some materials that make up your vehicle have properties and treatments that can be eliminated or damaged by their application, such as UV treatments or ceramic coatings.

One of the main components that you should avoid if you don't want to damage your vehicle are products with silicone . Above all, you should be careful with products for plastics and rubber , dashboards ... In addition to leaving the area sticky and oily, you could damage them or even discolor them. 😫

In short: Avoid the sun, vacuum cleaners and silicones as you avoid traffic jams in the middle of August, and you will have the best reward for a good detailer: A well-kept car! ✅
